About

A home for Southern stories—after the lights come up.

Sweetspire TV was founded in Memphis by Margaret Hatter and Angela D. Green, Esq. with roots in New York's independent film scene and years of work alongside the film community across the South.

Why Sweetspire exists

There's a missing link in the life of a great film. After production wraps and the festival circuit ends, too many stories disappear—remembered for a weekend, then lost to the scroll.

Sweetspire is built to be the permanent home for work that deserves more than a festival run and a memory.

Rooted in place
Named for the Virginia sweetspire

A plant with Mid-South roots—chosen as a reminder that the work we champion grows from the ground up.

Representation matters
Stories that show the South honestly

Not caricature. Not trend. Just real voices—with humor, grief, beauty, and complexity.

A flagship example
Fifth Step

One of our standout pieces—and a strong example of the kind of Memphis representation we want more of.
